From there, you are free to start and finish your own route and at your own pace. Trax are located on the border of Hampshire and Dorset, meaning bikes can be delivered across both counties; so you can design your own route through the New Forest, or venture to the seaside. Located in the ever popular Sandy Balls Holiday Centre, the Cycle Centre offers a whole range of goods and activities on two wheels. If you are already a keen cyclist, browse the well-stocked shop for clothing, accessories, ex-rental bikes or even a brand new one. They also offer repairs if needed. If you're just looking to have a shorter cycling experience, hire out a bike, tandem or a tag-a-long and explore one of the many routes which leave from here. Children will love Mud Rats – a fast, exciting and most importantly, muddy and messy route throughout the woodland.
AA Bike Hire has been established for over 25 years in Lyndhurst, a lovely town right in the heart of the New Forest and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. It is a family-run business so you can expect a warm welcome and plenty of insider tips. Their fleet is comprised of Specialised Hardrock and Haro Sport front suspension aluminium-framed mountain bikes, which are regularly serviced. This is one of the most reasonably priced cycle hire companies in the New Forest, but do bear in mind that they don’t take advanced bookings and work on a first-come first-served basis, so it is worth getting there early to ensure enough bikes for everyone at a good price.
